Tiles Brushed Kavalas Slate are crafted from Kavalas Quartzite Slate, sourced from quarries located at the foothills of Mount Paggaio in Northern Greece, in the Prefecture of Kavala. This mountain is historically significant as it was the location of gold mines that supported King Philip II’s campaign for his son, Alexander the Great. Kavalas Slate is a durable, frost-resistant stone with minimal erosion and a non-slip surface. The perimeter sides are machine-cut, while the two larger sides are left natural.
