Kavalas Slate Tiles 7-10cm x F.L. are made from Kavalas Quartzite Slate, which is mined from the quarries at the foothills of Mount Paggaio in Northern Greece. This region was historically home to the gold mines that funded King Philip II’s military campaigns, including those led by his son, Alexander the Great. Kavalas Slate is a durable, frost-resistant stone with minimal erosion and a non-slip surface. The four perimeter sides of the tiles are machine-cut, while the two larger sides remain natural.
