Kavalas Slate Mixed Cut Cyprus is made from natural Kavalas Quartzite Slate, sourced from quarries in the foothills of Mount Paggaio in Northern Greece’s Kavala region. This mountain is historically significant as the location of the gold mines of King Philip II, which funded Alexander the Great’s campaigns.
This hard stone is known for its excellent durability, frost resistance, minimal erosion, and non-slip surface. Each piece undergoes a unique perimeter treatment, where the sides are half machine-cut and half hand-broken, preserving a natural and rugged aesthetic.
