Description

GRAY KAVALA CUBES 10X20CM
The Gray Kavala Cubes 10x20cm are crafted from Kavala schist stone, sourced from the slopes of Mount Paggaio in Northern Greece, within the Kavala region. This mountain was historically home to King Philip II’s gold mines, which helped support the campaign of his son, Alexander the Great.

This durable material is highly resistant to time and frost, with minimal weathering and an anti-slip surface.

The four side edges are broken with a press, while the two large surfaces remain natural.

Our company offers CE certification for this product.

INSTALLING CUBES ON CONCRETE SURFACES

A strong and appropriate substrate is required for bonding the cubes.

The cubes are bonded using cement mortar, ensuring the flattest, smoothest surfaces are on top, with the desired slope applied.

Make sure there are no gaps during the cubing process.

Be cautious to prevent the mortar from staining the visible top surface. If this occurs, clean it immediately with a sponge and water before the mortar dries.

The width and depth of the joints depend on the project’s requirements. The typical joint width for this material ranges from 1 to 2cm, with a depth of 0 to 1cm (a smaller depth will make the surface more walkable).

The joints should be free of holes or cracks.

There are various placement patterns for the cubes, such as parallel, diagonal, or semicircular. The pattern outlined here is considered the simplest and most straightforward for installation.

Thicker cubes can be laid directly on the ground, without using concrete or mortar for bonding. In this case, a different technique is needed for both the substrate and installation.

In all cases, installation should be carried out by qualified, experienced professionals.
