Description

GRAY KAVALA CUBES 10X10CM
The Gray Kavala Cubes 10x10cm are made from Kavala schist stone, quarried from the slopes of the historic Mount Paggaio in Northern Greece, in the Kavala region. This mountain was home to King Philip II’s gold mines, which supported his son Alexander the Great’s campaign.

It is a durable rock with high resistance to time, frost, minimal disintegration, and has an anti-slip surface.

The four perimeter sides are broken with a press, and the two large surfaces are natural.

Our company provides special CE marking for this product.

INSTALLATION OF CUBES ON CONCRETE SURFACES

A strong and suitable substrate is required for the cubes to be bonded.

Bonding is done using cement mortar, ensuring that the flatter and smoother surfaces are placed on the top visible side, giving the desired slopes.

During the cubing process, avoid creating gaps.

Be careful not to stain the top visible surface with mortar. If this happens, clean it immediately with a sponge and water before it dries.

The width and depth of the joint depend on the project’s specific requirements. The usual joint width for this material is between 1 and 2cm, and the depth is between 0 and 1cm (the smaller the depth, the more walkable the surface becomes).

The joints should not have holes or cracks.

There are various cube placement patterns, such as parallel or diagonal lines, semicircles, etc. The described pattern is considered the simplest and easiest for installation.

Thicker cubes can be laid directly on the ground without concrete or mortar for bonding. In this case, a different technique is required for both the substrate and installation.

In all cases, installation should be carried out by specialized, experienced craftsmen.
