Description
Polygonal Kavalas Slate
Polygonal Kavalas Slate is a natural stone that is “torn” into thin sheets using a hammer and wedge, applied perpendicularly to its compression direction. This slate is extracted from the quarries at the base of Mount Paggaio in Northern Greece, an area historically known for its gold mines, which supported King Philip II’s military campaigns, including that of his son, Alexander the Great. Kavalas slate is a durable rock, resistant to time, frost, and weathering, with a slip-resistant surface.
